Casting Notice for S/HE

Thinking Cap Productions, a new company dedicated to experimental and socially conscious work, seeks bold and talented actors for its upcoming production of S/HE by Tanzanian-born playwright, Nick Mwaluko.  This production will mark the commencement of “Plays with a Bite,” a performance series featuring vanguard drama and European cuisine at The Wine Cellar in Fort Lauderdale.  S/HE will run for two weeks from November 12th-November 23rd.

Six (6) Roles

Sam 1 – Female, 18-30

Sam 2 – Male, 18-30

Mary, Sam’s Mom – Female, 35-50

Jill – Female or Male, 18-30

Dr. Harvey Rustein/Boss Lester/Neighbor – Female, 35-50

DJ (Disk Jockey) – Female or Male, 18-30

Actors of color are encouraged to audition.

Auditions will be held on Monday, September 20th from 5-8PM at The Wine Cellar

(199 E Oakland Park Blvd, Oakland Park, Florida 33334).

Actors should prepare two 2-3 minute contemporary monologues (one comic, one serious).  Bring hard copies of your headshot and resume with you to the audition.

Callbacks to be held Monday, September 27th from 5-8PM. Sides will be emailed prior to callback.
